[arch-general] pcmanfm-gtk3 no longer working on wayland?
Hi ! pcmanfm-gtk3 is segfaulting on wayland when trying to access any directory. I don't know if others are experiencing the same. The alternative I've been using is thunar, though I really liked pcmanfm-gtk3. Is there a work around? Although I don't like it, I also tried "GDK_BACKEND=x11 pcmanfm" and it also segfaults... Have others experience the same? Greetings ! -- Javier

I don't use this but I see that the last source code update was 5 years ago [1] - maybe its time to move to something else that is being more actively maintained? gene [1] https://github.com/lxde/pcmanfm/tree/master/src

Perhaps, it works wonders on Xorg for me though... The not so bloated gui alternative is thunar, which is working for me. But it's weird since on most forums where people asks what works on wayland, which is light, then certainly pcmanfm-gtk3 shows up. I'm wondering if it's compositor dependent, or something else. I'm using wayfire... Thanks ! -- Javier

Rarely used, but no problems here - sway/wayland. Merell -- In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Hmm, could the compositor have something to do? I use wayfire. I'll try removing any config or data files I find, and see if that helps, but to me it's almos immediate, I just try to go to root for example, and it just crashes... -- Javier
