[arch-general] Organising a Bug Squashing Day
Hi! I'm an IT student in Paris, fairly new to Archlinux, and I would like to organise a Bug Squashing Day. Problem is, I have no idea who I should contact to do things properly. Shall I send this message to the arch-dev-public mailing-list too? Thank you, Helene

Nope. Arch-dev-public is only for official devs[1] only. Your mail will get rejected by the server. As for how to do it properly, I think all you need to do is get a bunch of people interested, pick a date, hop on IRC and squash away. That's how the Xen project seems to handle it, anyway.[2] --Sean [1] https://www.archlinux.org/people/developers/ [2] http://wiki.xenproject.org/wiki/Xen_Document_Days

An idea: you could try the Community Contributions forum (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewforum.php?id=27) to let folks know about your tender as well hop into the IRC and talk there. I'm a bit out of time these days but I would love to lend a hand and help close tickets. Good luck with the initiative! -Martin
Btw Helene, if you don't know about them already you might be interested in getting in touch with https://archwomen.org/about/ - I already met a couple of these archers at IRC and they are really nice, totally recommended ;) On Sun, Nov 30, 2014 at 7:07 PM, Martín Cigorraga <msx@archlinux.us> wrote:
