[arch-general] command line utility questions
What does arch linux use for burning cd's and dvd's? It's not cdrecord or wodim I checked for those two and found nothing, unless I need to add a repository to my searching. Also what does arch linux use for a spreadsheet for command line users? Finally, what would a pacman search designed to find all spreadsheet programs in arch linux look like? ---------------------------------------------------------------- Jude <jdashiel-at-shellworld-dot-net> <http://www.shellworld.net/~jdashiel/nj.html>

'pacman -Ss burning' + read the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/FAQ#Q.29_What_package_is_X_in.3F wodim is provided by cdrkit package, so is cdrecord.
Finally, what would a pacman search designed to find all spreadsheet programs in arch linux look like? 'pacman -Ss spreadsheet' won't show you any screenshots ;P

The only programm Arch forces you to use is Pacman. Also see pkgfile command of pkgtools package :D it han hel you search non- found executables. It also integrates into Bash and Zsh to provide with ubuntu

Yes: <https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CD_Burning>. However, be careful with permissions: you need to have write access for device or have a ck-session set up. -- Leonid Isaev GnuPG key ID: 164B5A6D Key fingerprint: C0DF 20D0 C075 C3F1 E1BE 775A A7AE F6CB 164B 5A6D
