[arch-general] special keys on latop don't work
Hi, folks, until a few days ago running GNOME I could use the special keys on my laptop, e.g. for volume up/down. Now nothing happens when I press one of these keys. Strange enough, it seems like only the volume up/down keys have quit their work. Because they did their job out of the box I don't know how to re-acitivate them. Does anyone have a hint for me ? The keys behave this way so in GNOME but also in other DEs like LXDE. Kind regards, Nelson.
Take a look at this post [1] which tells you to downgrade certain packages. Then add the packages to the IgnorePkg line in /etc/pacman.conf until the problem is solved. I experienced the same, also the media keys (prev/next track etc.) stopped working. The weird thing is, the keys are recognized in the Gnome keyboard settings. With Gnome 3.6 from testing the keys work again. regards bjo -- xmpp bjo@schafweide.org bjo.nord-west.org | nord-west.org | freifunk-ol.de

It happened after the last X.org update. It should be fixed in gnome 3.6. Use testing, if you can't wait!

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32047 talks only about GNOME.
