I've got Xfce only installed. Konqueror does behave the same way here. I just installed kdebase-konqueror a minute ago and didn't change any settings.

In my tests, it worked as it should. The file got the right name, just like I typed it.

Hmmm ... interesting. So maybe it is something specific to my config after all. Are you using the latest version of konqueror? (4.8.1) Thanks, DR

Not quite... I'm still using 4.8.0. But I'm at my job right now. I'll test when I get home, in a system using 4.8.1.

Hmmm ... perhaps this is a change that crept in in 4.8.1 then. Makes sense - I use this piece of functionality a lot, and only noticed this bug recently. If you could please post back with your findings on your 4.8.1 system, I'd appreciate it, since it'll help me file the bug report. Thanks, DR
