How did you perform the install? Did you follow the guide at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide ? If so, it would be a good idea to read back through each of the steps to make sure you didn't forget anything. The first thing I would check is that you did everything that was required for console fonts and locale (e.g. running locale-gen after modifying /etc/locale.conf). Hope this helps, Paul
