[arch-general] ConsoleKit replaced by logind vs Initsricpts
Hi :) I'm using GDM and Xfce. It isn't a surprise that I can't log in anymore. If I should replace GDM and for sure Network Manager too and reconfigure ntcfg. Will there still be other serious issues if I stay with initscripts? Is there a Wiki describing how to switch to systemd easy? Regards, Ralf

That is not expected. You should still be able to log in. Are you using [testing]? If so, you might be hit by a bug I introduced when updating libtirpc yesterday. It can be fixed by logging into single-user mode and up- or downgrading the package.

Anything that relies on ConsoleKit will be problematic.

No, testing repositories never were enabled. X is started, but there's no GUI log in menu anymore. If I push Ctrl+Alt+Del a window informs that GDM is running, but shut down doesn't work. Regards, Ralf

I am not sure, but I think it is expected with GDM.

Hi, As for the NetworkManager, you can use the networkmanager-consolekit from AUR. Lukas
