[arch-general] Squirrelmail Gotcha
List, Most of you know this, but it caught me off-guard. With Arch (with good security) if you define your squirrelmail data and attachment directories outside your document root (which you should), then you must explicitly add the path to the parent directory of data & attachment to the open_basedir path in /etc/php/php.ini. Example: open_basedir = /srv/http/:/srv/www:/home/:/tmp/:/usr/share/pear/:/usr/local/share/sqmail Restart the web server and your good. Without it, you are dead in the water... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Rankin Law Firm, PLLC 510 Ochiltree Street Nacogdoches, Texas 75961 Telephone: (936) 715-9333 Facsimile: (936) 715-9339 www.rankinlawfirm.com
This should probably go in the wiki, it will get lost on the mailing list. Nice catch though

Yeah, I got hit by that a while back too after a SM upgrade. Annoying. I imagine it's something that should be part of a Squirrelmail wiki page, but we don't currently have one. DR

I've never set up a "new" wiki page with the Arch wiki before. If somebody wants to point me to a howto, I'll put a squirrelmail page together. Or, if someone will just create the "Squirrelmail" wiki page, I'll fill in the content. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. And don't worry too much about making it amazing -- that's what {{stub}} is for.

It's either "dazzle them with your brilliance" or "baffle them with your bullshit!" The jury is still out on which is more prevalent;-) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Unfortunately not. My docket is pure contingent fee. You don't eat unless there is a kill (goes back to my feast or famine comment earlier;-) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Your docket works on the rotating crash basis. You will be busy as hell for a few weeks/months, then just as slow. Like I said before, Linux is my game of chess -- it's relaxing;-) -- David C. Like anything else. Feasts are good, but famines hurt. You just hope to have enough to survive between the two;-) If it was just work, life would be a breeze. Yeah, I understand how it is, I think. But hey, you're doing something daring with your life. Why bother living if you're just going to settle for safe and convenient mediocrity, eh? ;) -AT -- Andrei Thorp Development Co-op Xandros andrei.thorp@xandros.com www.xandros.com Random Quote (man fortune) ========================== I didn't order any WOO-WOO ...
