Changing volume step for function keys
Hello, Does anyone know how to change the volume step for the volume up and down functions. By default it increases/decreases by 10% and I would like to half that to 5% because 10% can go from too quiet you can't hear it to blowing your ear drums out. You need to see what commands those keys are mapped to in your DE. In mine (XFCE), I have my volume up/down mapped to "pamixer -i 1" and "pamixer -d 1". HTH, DR
It isn't the Desktop Environment which manages them. I am pretty sure it is xorg: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xbindkeys#Audio_control I will follow through this as it seems to be what I want, sorry for the noise. Xbindkeys is not even an xorg tool. it's a simple X client, same as how a desktop environment is an X client -- damjan
