[arch-general] Upgrade problem
Hi, all. I'm a newcomer to Arch Linux so excuse my ignorance. I attempted to update yesterday (pacman -Syu) & I got this message at the end of the update: '(121/121) checking for file conflicts [#################################################] 100% error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) filesystem: /bin exists in filesystem filesystem: /sbin exists in filesystem filesystem: /usr/sbin exists in filesystem Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.' Can anybody tell me what it means & how to go about fixing it (I've got Arch running on a VPS). Many thanks, Cheers, Phil... -- currently (ab)using Arch Linux, CentOS 5.9 & 6.4, Debian Squeeze & Wheezy, Fedora Spherical & That Damn Cat, Lubuntu 12.10, OS X Snow Leopard & Tiger, Ubuntu Quantal, Raring & Saucy GnuGPG Key : http://phildobbin.org/publickey.asc

More generally, I would like to remind you and anyone using Arch that they are expected to read the news items from our Web page before any upgrade. You can also get them as an RSS feed: https://www.archlinux.org/feeds/news/ or as a mailing list: https://mailman.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch-announce -- Gaetan

Or reinstall Arch using the latest iso. It might be faster and easier.
