Where can I get last source pkg for hylafax before it was dropped in 2021?
Archdevs, Where can I get the last sourcepkg used to pkg hylafax for Arch before hylafax was dropped from Arch? This was hylafax 6.0.7-4, e.g. with full info: Name : hylafax Version : 6.0.7-4 Description : Fax Server Architecture : x86_64 URL : https://www.hylafax.org/ Licenses : custom Groups : None Provides : None Depends On : libtiff pam ghostscript Optional Deps : None Required By : None Optional For : None Conflicts With : None Replaces : None Installed Size : 3.84 MiB Packager : Antonio Rojas <arojas@archlinux.org> Build Date : Fri 23 Apr 2021 02:00:05 AM CDT Install Date : Fri 23 Apr 2021 03:45:09 AM CDT Install Reason : Explicitly installed Install Script : Yes Validated By : Signature The issue being that libtiff 4.5 completely broke hylafax. There are two packages bandaiding this, AUR hylafaxplus and the custom patched version for libtiff at: https://gitlab.com/libtiff/libtiff/-/issues/504#note_1229203232 with an upcoming new release for hylafax+ on sourceforge that resolves the issue with the exports removed from libtiff. My issue is I need the setup for the last hylafax packaged by Arch to prevent configuration issues. How can I get a copy of the last source package for hylafax? The forum post from 2009, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=164759 is out of date after the move to gitlab. The wiki page on downgrading https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Downgrading_packages still refers to ABS. How to do it today? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

Sorry for the noise, I didn't read that you tried that already. -- Iyán Méndez Veiga GPG 0x422E3694311E5AC1
Hello, You want the binary? https://www.hylafax.org/downloads/ You want a package? Once it is deleted from the AUR it is gone, someone will need to add this back to the AUR most likely, maybe an admin or TU can pull the old pkg but I doubt it. Sorry,
First, it was not in the AUR, it was in the repos. The AUR is backed by git, and the git history isn't ever deleted, so it's never gone. The repos are currently backed by svn and mirrored to git, which they were already linked to, and again, never gone.
Oh... I thought was in the AUR, sorry my bad... -- Polarian GPG signature: 0770E5312238C760 Website: https://polarian.dev JID/XMPP: polarian@polarian.dev On 27 January 2023 00:00:26 GMT, Doug Newgard <dnewgard@outlook.com> wrote:

https://github.com/archlinux/ It is either in svntogit-packages or svntogit-community. Find the commit that dropped the package and checkout the predecessor. BR

Thanks, I'll check there. To be clear, the hylafax package was in the extra repo and last updated in April, 2021 and dropped sometime thereafter. I have a very old package saved in a tar of the last ABS from 9/24/15, but nothing since as I had no need to asp export it. I really just need to make sure the build options and the various queue, and notify options are compatible with what the new package uses to avoid chasing my tail troubleshooting some obscure option change. (all too familiar with that drill...) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
Hello, Surely the halifax package should be added to the AUR if it was dropped from the official mirrors? If the demand is there for the package, I could add it to the AUR? Thanks, -- Polarian GPG signature: 0770E5312238C760 Website: https://polarian.dev JID/XMPP: polarian@polarian.dev

I did not know that Github has no UI for searching history. Of course you would not want to download the whole repo just to search. Out of curiosity I tried it myself, with a little trick: $ git clone --filter=blob:none --no-checkout --single-branch --branch master https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-packages.git $ cd svntogit-packages/ $ git log | less and a bit of searching gives commit ea9816ac98db68bc4b2af001538f97c87b46bfec Author: heftig <heftig@eb2447ed-0c53-47e4-bac8-5bc4a241df78> Date: Fri Apr 1 17:25:02 2022 +0000 archrelease: copy trunk to testing-x86_64 git-svn-id: file:///srv/repos/svn-packages/svn@441125 eb2447ed-0c53-47e4-bac8-5bc4a241df78 as a good candidate with latest hylafax still there: $ git checkout ea9816ac98db68bc4b2af001538f97c87b46bfec hylafax $ tree hylafax/ hylafax/ ├── repos │ └── extra-x86_64 │ ├── config.local │ ├── faxgetty@.service │ ├── faxq.service │ ├── hfaxd.service │ ├── hylafax.install │ ├── hylafax.service │ ├── hylafax.sysusers │ ├── hylafax.timer │ └── PKGBUILD └── trunk ├── config.local ├── faxgetty@.service ├── faxq.service ├── hfaxd.service ├── hylafax.install ├── hylafax.service ├── hylafax.sysusers ├── hylafax.timer └── PKGBUILD BR

I must not know how to search old packages. I've search both, hylafax does not appear. I even searched Rojas' packages (the maintainer before it was dropped) and nothing appears. Did the "extra" repository packages end up in either svntogit-packages or svntogit-community? Seems like there would be an svntogit-extra repo? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

It was removed with commit ace51d8c13e1539ccf71a6e83894d47e957ffc5f

How about this: https://github.com/search?q=org%3Aarchlinux+hylafax&type=commits. Looks like it was removed by https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-packages/commit/ec308cb9b0d6b821111b9b.... -- Best regards, SM GPG: 103BF9E3E750BF7E
