Big changes:

Since you are removing many of the references of modules in rc.conf (like blacklist and MOD_AUTOLOAD), why do not you remove MODULES array and leaves everything to modprobe.conf do this tasks?

modprobe.conf can not be used to autoload modules. It can only apply options, or blacklist modules from being loaded. Otherwise it would have been a good idea :-) Cheers, Tom
