[arch-general] liboping removed ?
In 2021-05-08 09:15 +0000, Arojas removed it. I have not found any discuss about it in the mail list or BBS. Any info, please?

What info do you need exactly? Packages are removed all the time when they are orphan/no longer needed. If you want to be notified about it, there's an RSS feed you can subscribe to.
When a package is removed, what does happen to its PKGFILE? Is it archived somewhere? It seems like liboping hasn't changed for years so it must not be that complicated to build it occasionally when a new compiler is released... pacman was complaining about its Perl modules that wouldn't be used by the latest Perl interpreter... That was not a big concern to me since I am using liboping from a C program... Bottomline, hopefully the PKGFILE is still available somewhere so that someone can move it in AUR... Hi, packages dropped from the repositories are usually moved to AUR. IIRC there was an issue a while ago. However, see https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/?h=liboping https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/liboping/ . Regards, Ralf

Hi,
Hi,
packages dropped from the repositories are usually moved to AUR.
IIRC there was an issue a while ago. However, see
another possibility would be to look for the package's (old) PKGBUILD in the git repository of all packages: https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/ https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/
