[arch-general] xbacklight broken in 3.13
Hi, after update to kernel 3.13, xbacklight fails to adjust the brightness on my Asus EeePc 1015 PX; anyone in the same boat? echoing a number into: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness updates the value as expected, only it doesn't really do anything. Fell back to using the pci method (as described in the wiki) to reduce the glare for the time being. Regards, mih -- 'aware water' is an anagram for 'we are at war'

I have no new information to add, but can confirm that the issue also exist on my Asus EeePC 1015 PE. -- Will Clardy Personal: will@quexxon.net SBTS: wclardy813@students.sbts.edu

What 'usual channels' ? Nobody can remove you, you have to do that yourself at the same place you subscribed. That's a very friendly and helpful email - I love your confidence. Oh, and thanks for our help. On 22/02/14 14:19, Fons Adriaensen wrote:

echoing a number into:
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
updates the value as expected, only it doesn't really do anything.

Hi, just wanted to let you know, adding the line: Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight" in: /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf has restored the functionality; albeit with an interesting twist: setting the backlight value to 0 now turns the backlight off. cheers, mih
