Re: [arch-general] [arch-dev-public] List of packages that could be rebuilt if you have nothing better to do...

Hi,
I have created a list of packages the could use a rebuild but for which there is no hurry. These include packages without the arch in their filename, packages containing a .FILELIST file, packages with man pages in /usr/man or uncompress man and info pages. See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/User:Allan/Unimportant_Rebuild_List
Do people think this is useful and should I move it to the DeveloperWiki?

Good job. And for "Packages that can be converted to arch=any" sometime ago I sended a list of tentative packages [#1]. Its old and some of listed packages [#2] are now "any" [#1] http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/aur-general/2009-July/005960.html [#2] http://archlinux.djgera.com.ar/misc/any.txt -- Gerardo Exequiel Pozzi ( djgera ) http://www.djgera.com.ar KeyID: 0x1B8C330D Key fingerprint = 0CAA D5D4 CD85 4434 A219 76ED 39AB 221B 1B8C 330D

I'm being lazy... any change you can easily generate an updated list for [core]/[extra]? Don't worry about it if it will be a hassle. Allan

No problem, I can do a "light scan" making a difference between this list and list of current packages. I guess that doing again a "deep scan" don't make much sense, Good Luck! -- Gerardo Exequiel Pozzi ( djgera ) http://www.djgera.com.ar KeyID: 0x1B8C330D Key fingerprint = 0CAA D5D4 CD85 4434 A219 76ED 39AB 221B 1B8C 330D

List updated [#1] This is based on old list, deleting current converted packages and packages deleted from repos. No new packages are added because I didn't a deep/fine scan. For each repo. If any have a time, the idea to do the deep scan is (what I remember was done manually in the past) 1) Download this db [#2]. 2) Keep with 0 size files from db. -> packages names. 3) Scan from previous result list if there are any ELF32/ELF64 LSB (relocatables (objects files, kernel modules, ar archives, etc), executables, shared objects) and discard ELF for others archs (for example AVR, ARM, SPARC) inside each package. Thanks, I have added the [core] and [extra] packages to my wiki page. A TU probably wants to add this to the [community] TODO page (which needs a big update: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Community_todo) Allan

Nope :( Bah in part... is taking advantage of pkgdyn "debris"(*), then tweaks by hand. As I said before in response "Was done "at-run-time-command-line", no draft script :(" But I will see I can do ;) (*) "Is based on "discarded packages" generated by pkgdyn[#1] (packages without any ELF with dynamic section, this is zero-size in "db" from pkgdyn[#2]. And from this list, these packages that don't have any ELF at all. There is an small exception like webmin, that have and ELF for SPARC and is listed in db."
