[arch-general] Black screen at first boot
Hi List, since a few days (I did not change anything, no updates, nothing) the first boot of my machine results in a non-responsive black screen. I have to do a cold-start, and then the second boot works as expected. Has anybody witnessed this too? A hardware problem? -- cheers, Thorsten
Hi, I have faced the same problem on several occasions (over many months) on my laptop too. But in my case, I have found that high humidity is the cause. And the black screen more frequent during monsoon. When not in use. keeping my laptop in its bag with a packet or two of silica gel solves it. - Rohit ----- Original Message ----- From: Thorsten Jolitz <tjolitz@gmail.com> To: arch-general@archlinux.org Cc: Sent: Friday, 4 October 2013 11:59 AM Subject: [arch-general] Black screen at first boot Hi List, since a few days (I did not change anything, no updates, nothing) the first boot of my machine results in a non-responsive black screen. I had something similar a long time ago. It was because of a corrupted BIOS configuration, so doing "Load Defaults" from the BIOS menu solved the issue. -- Rodrigo
