[arch-general] No splash - just whitescreen on gnome startup (all kernels)
Guys, Now that I can boot using 2.6.35-2, I am turning attention to another issue - whitescreen instead of splash on gnome start. After typing in my user:pw and hitting return, I see a total white screen with the busy cursor until the entire desktop is loaded - a long 20-30 seconds. Normally I would expect to see the gnome splash over the default background. Anybody else? What to check? What to try? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. What to check? What to try?
In cases like this, you *always* need to check with a completely new and fresh user - so to eliminate any wrong or broken user-space configs. -- damjan
