[arch-general] [Packages] [dbus-core] DeveloperWiki:CoreSignoffs wiki needs update
Hi, I'm using dbus-core 1.2.24-2 from [testing] on x86_64 since yesterday [0] and it works really good. I started caring about it because it's a corner-stone of KDE SC and that's why I think this wiki entry [1] should be updated to EVERYONE since everybody using KDE needs it. So you are saying that everyone should be able to signoff? I think the main point is everyone can block a signoff by filing a bug report. Allan

I'm sorry but that was what I understand after reading the wiki, specially: "The ones that I believe everyone use and can test (please fix if they are incorrect or missing) are marked by a 'EVERYONE' so you don't need to write your name beside them." -- -Martín "Un buen antivirus, no debería dejar cargar Windows y sugerir instalar GNU/Linux xD" - omar_uy@#parabola@freenode

Oh... that table down that bottom. Not sure that anyone has looked at that in a long time. Allan

Yeah, Even though I started it , I had forgotten about it. Very few devs took time to fill it out so I believe it was never used. It isn't worth updating it.

The funny thing with this specific case is that I didn't even ask for signoff. I asked on the bugtracker where this bug has been discussed to see if the bug has been fixed without side-effects. The only comment I received in days is "Why didn't you update to 1.3.1?". If this package was really so important, why is nobody, including the KDE maintainers that filed it, focused at getting this package to core?
I feel the package should be ported to core. I'm using it from testing since 2-3 days and dolphin problem has been solved. -- Regards, Nilesh Govindarajan Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nilesh.gr Twitter: http://twitter.com/nileshgr Website: http://www.itech7.com VPS Hosting: http://www.itech7.com/a/vps
dbus 1.4.0 has been released (<http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dbus/2010-September/013378.html>), so the problem should be solved when that is moved to core (so no need for using the development version). -t
