[arch-general] consolekit removal - a question
For people who have converted to systemd it seems that consolekit is no longer needed. When removing it should one do "pacman -R consolekit" or "pacman -Rs consolekit" - I was unsure whether the dependencies should also be removed or not? Thanks -- mike c

When removing it should one do "pacman -R consolekit" or "pacman -Rs consolekit" - I was unsure whether the dependencies should also be removed or not?
You don't have to remove consolekit, and you don't have to remove its dependencies. However, as they will be unused, you might as well, so "pacman -Rsc consolekit" seems sensible. -t

Best practice is to allways #pacman -Rs I removed consolekit one hour ago, and if your system is up to date, you will not find any dependencies.
pacman -Rsc consolekit prompts me to remove half KDE.

I removed consolekit one hour ago, and if your system is up to date, you will not find any dependencies.

Then you are likely not up-to-date. Make sure your mirror is synced, and that you have done a "pacman -Syu". -t
