[arch-general] netcfg and atheros or where to set the ap mac
Hi, netcfg is quite what i need for my laptop. unfortunatly i can't get it to work with the built in atheros card. The errror is "wireless association failed". Well obviously atheros doesnt associate automaticly. you have to do it manually. not a problem, i just set an ap via iwconfig and it works. netcfg has an option IWOPTS. the docs claim this will be passed to iwconfig. unfiortunatly that is not the case. so where can i set the ap? -- best regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen Arvid Ephraim Picciani

the mac. iwconfig ap AA:BB:CC etc not the essid. well i had to modify alot anyway to get it working properly so i'll just keep my mac hack in. i wonder why netcfg isnt like the old arch scripts where you could just throw your default iwconfig/ifconfig lines in. i guess thats part of the new userfriendlyness becouse people cant type "man iwconfig" ?
