you should ask them to get the latest openvz template: http://download.openvz.org/contrib/template/precreated/arch-2010.05-i686-min... http://download.openvz.org/contrib/template/precreated/arch-2010.05-x86_64-m... those are created by me and mostly because nobody cared for so many years :) -- Ionuț

I managed to get arch with them after a lot of push, anyway, leave that part. -- Regards, Nilesh Govindarajan Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nilesh.gr Twitter: http://twitter.com/nileshgr Website: http://www.itech7.com Cheap and Reliable VPS Hosting: http://j.mp/arHk5e

LXC is the Linux Container Project, afaik a subset of OpenVZ that has been merged in the vanilla kernel.
just try it
The problem is I'm still learning LXC so I was wondering if your templates are a good fit for that. I probably wont be able to solve any problems if they ocur. -- damjan

Well... there's a problem because the arch's package format has changed (from .pkg.tar.gz to .pkg.tar.xz)! Try yourself to install pacman's package manually (and his dependencies). It should work! Sorry about my english. On Fri, Jun 18, 2010 at 9:38 AM, Nilesh Govindarajan <lists@itech7.com> wrote:

I don't think you can: http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2010-June/017096.html
Its over finally. Some tar -xf stuff, etc. made it possible :) Basically upgraded pacman and its deps directly from archlinux.org as someone suggested. Thanks to that one ! -- Regards, Nilesh Govindarajan Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nilesh.gr Twitter: http://twitter.com/nileshgr Website: http://www.itech7.com Cheap and Reliable VPS Hosting: http://j.mp/arHk5e

fsckvps.com This was the second VPS I am configuring for a friend. I have been using their UK service (link in my signature) for more than two years. They offer excellent quality service. -- Regards, Nilesh Govindarajan Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nilesh.gr Twitter: http://twitter.com/nileshgr Website: http://www.itech7.com Cheap and Reliable VPS Hosting: http://j.mp/arHk5e

Weren't they same ones who got hacked for weak password. Went on blaming it on software provider(HyperVM(. owner of software committed suicide because of this. then the original owner sold the vps company, that only to be resold again. now the original owner seems to be starting a new company. Quite Dramatic story...I would say Regards, Gaurish Sharma www.gaurishsharma.com

OMG I never knew about that suicide thing, but yes it is the same one, the HyperVM hacks. Then they withdrew Xen VPS and migrated everyone to KVM and OpenVZ. -- Regards, Nilesh Govindarajan Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nilesh.gr Twitter: http://twitter.com/nileshgr Website: http://www.itech7.com Cheap and Reliable VPS Hosting: http://j.mp/arHk5e
