[arch-general] Why is netcfg again in [base]?
I thought it was deprecated in favour of netctl. Now it's impossible to install the base group, since netctl and netcfg are in conflict.

This has been fixed in the meantime, which takes me to another question: why are my messages still moderated? If I understood correctly, when the moderation system was set up the idea was that after the first message was accepted the address was automatically whitelisted. I have sent a few messages since then, and they are still being moderated, with the consequence that many times they are not relevant anymore when they are finally published.

See below.

That's incorrect. Only subscribers with a consistent record of constructive contributions get whitelisted. And the process is completely manual.

These two messages of yours are the first ones since January...

So far you've only posted three times in 2013; that's not "many times". And although your messages do not seem time critical to me, I would like to point out that your original one in this thread was received by our servers at 06:12 and accepted by me at 07:18 (both times UTC-04). Please do contribute constructively to this list and you will get whitelisted eventually. -- Gaetan

That's not what this message [1] seems to suggest. Thanks for the clarification.

Well I've tried, but it's not very encouraging to see your messages get lost on the moderation filter (I assume because by the time some moderator takes a look at them the topic has already been solved) [1] http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.arch.general/46208/

Which does not go anywhere near answering the question... Anyway, this was fixed in -5 (and it appears that netcfg is removed again).

I'm sorry, but I couldn't access (connection timed out) neither the git, package websearch, ML archives or Arch homepage at that time, so the ML link I had bookmarked earlier was the best thing I could do.

Half-OT: Yes, earlier today there was an update available, now it isn't available anymore. Can I get it from somewhere else? I didn't update this morning and want to do it now. It's ok that you don't put it to the official repositories, but it would be nice if user still could use it, as long as it's possible.

netcfg 3.1-4 is in the ARM.

If Ralf knew what ARM stands for, he probably wouldn't have asked that question in the first place... So here it is: http://arm.konnichi.com/ -- Gaetan
