leslie: fuck you and your macho-nerd, myth-of-progress bullshit.
all the rest: i'm really upset with this decision. the basic assumption that anyone who matters is spending money on new hardware is fucked-up.
I LOLed.
alright, alright, ya' got me. the best jokes contain a kernel of truth, and this one hit real close to home. i maintain the basic premise of leslie's comment (serious or not) is widely held and fundamentally bad for the world. *and* i woke up with a hang-over, so please forgive me for being a bit too credulous. sheesh, kludge
Hehe. Don't worry too much, I'm pretty sure people aren't particularly upset. -AT On Thu, Apr 2, 2009 at 2:03 PM, kludge <drkludge@rat-patrol.org> wrote:

Yeah, you were cought on the right day. You should have seen the brazilian sucker who bought it 2 days earlier! Take the time to read the translation of the brazilian mailing list, in the announcement. LOL!!! On Thu, Apr 2, 2009 at 11:27 PM, Andrei Thorp <garoth@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes, that's right. Moreover it's a view that's often held by proprietary software companies like Microsoft who don't really give a damn about minorities and poor people. I like making silly jokes that aren't so silly when you look closer. Most of the time I use irony to convey the meaning but this time the irony was somewhat implicit given the date. :) But fooleries aside I have a small suggestion for you: you will hardly get anyone to take you serious if you talk like you did; convincing people works best if you show basic respect for them. I don't mean to criticize you but rather to help you convince people of the good opinion you have on this topic. Well perhaps it was just the hangover anyway. ;) Cheers! Leslie
