For version 4.1.1 of pacman, a --noprepare option was added to makepkg [1]. But, for version 4.1.2, the option is no longer available.
I've tried searching for some discussion of why the option was removed, but have drawn a complete blank so far. Can anyone shed any light on this?

--noprepare wasn't in 4.1.1. It hasn't made it into a release yet. It will be in 4.2.

Well, I just pulled the makepkg script out of my cached pacman-4.1.1 package and the option is definitely there.
But my current version 4.1.2 makepkg script definitely doesn't have it.
So - yes, I'm sure.

That should not have been in 4.1.1. I think that was a mis-tarball. If you look at the log, the noprepare patch was merged right after the v4.1.1 tag.
