[arch-general] FreeCAD and KiCAD depend on different opencascade versions
Ohai, I'd like to use FreeCAD and KiCAD on the same system but I can't install them both from the official repos because kicad depends on opencascade und freecad depends on opencascade74. I can't install both because these two opencascades don't like to be installed together. Is their a solution in sight? Can we recompile freecad against the newer opencascade? At the moment I'm using the AppImage version of freecad and the repo version of kicad. -- Greetings Ricardo Band https:// www.ricardo.band mailto:// email@ricardo.band xmpp://jabber@ricardo.band

Known issue, it has been solved in freecad development code but freecad devs haven't done a release yet that includes that code. A workaround is to use freecad-git from aur.
