-- Nilesh Govindarajan Site & Server Administrator www.itech7.com
One more point. Make sure that you install the package which is built for your CPU's architechture. I think you have 64 bit. Check it out. It may be the reason for crashes. -- Nilesh Govindarajan Site & Server Administrator www.itech7.com

Nilesh, would you be so kind to trim the quoted message to only include whatever is relevant? Now people have to scroll through a lot of text (the logs), only the find the note "try reinstalling". (not to be offensive, just a kind request). mvg, Guus

Okay. Gaurish, try flashplugin-lahf-fix AUR package as Mauro suggested. -- Nilesh Govindarajan Site & Server Administrator www.itech7.com
Hi, My CPU is Intel E5300.AKAIK, lahf only applies to AMD athlon 64 line of chips. Same problem here. Running dual E5410 Xeons; Firefox crashes and will not restart. On Mar 7, 2010 9:59 PM, "Shridhar Daithankar" <ghodechhap@ghodechhap.net> wrote: On Sunday 07 March 2010 20:54:24 Gaurish Sharma wrote:

Hi, Flashplugin keep crashing which makes Firefox unstable. with chrome, only the plugin crashes. But this way I am not able to experiance any flash based website. the thing that annoy me is that flash does work fine my lappy with OpenSuse.
Anyone experiencing similar issues?
One of the reasons why flash keeps crashing is because it sucks. Another of the reasons may be because your cpu may lack the lahf related instructions. It's adobe's fault again, flash is slower than molasses so they might as well make it as compatible as possible. For the lahf stuff "fix" you can try [1] but it may not help at all, all the cpus I have in my machines support lahf and I've tried with and without this fix and flash still crashes when viewing some pages. This GDB was configured as "x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu".
If you care about flash enough to not just uninstall it, try a 32bit chroot. There should be plenty stuff on google from the time they didnt have a 64bit version.
If the lahf fix doesn't work, you could try nspluginwrapper
