[arch-general] Question about the mailman package
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I just tried to install the mailman package but I'm wondering if there is a good reason why this package installs all its content into /home/ ? Wouldn't /opt/ be a better place for a program like mailman? According to [1] the /home/ directory is off limits for packages. See http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/11481. Maybe this will get handled when the maintainer updates it to the latest version. Of course, a working and fixed PKGBUILD always helps speed things along. Allan

Actually I'm working on a PKGBUILD right now :) But I'm not sure if the whole program should be installed in /opt or if the program should be splitted to /etc /usr/bin and /usr/share. To put everything into /opt would definitely be the easier way :) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJK2bNKAAoJELgoSeO+fWZhoWsP/jhoXRtxsl5NtgCCH8gYLuGz RlHTEiW3OjwnwLAVoteUDyphglTDt5mXOHmc2tXTVKWBa+FqNZ+j2BZGkZCP5sjB NwcGWqZ+3Xop//ruUasmLLBPLrOwqlvS77Y79FX+HoyqQSfv0ceNELoVpJm1IeDp Ji25PLZY+6MxWDoSf9irzhBZ5s7jzl9tHOxJz63SgOFTUh1MlRtwLnm/jFjduQ3v NShIn9s7SalBbbQB9wGp9W2tzl1kSXvg+TGVvO9FVdXIVHD+LS95O23Uz2rDlf4n QMupn/OYZ0U6OqT9U1hn6xBrd9j1T6eVP0wx44omXU5eUFN0LICp+uwz8kqkZPjx d52lb/eohqB625cYQphYrjUMOJnWBP7/kA6K6gukP0q6qzw5st234GDLnsVEZYM/ 56adKPuz2OeL62GFEMISP3MsKGdJRI87+iJ2oJz/XDQ0uNOB/D1X3Ak5LR88PhDC Lq4cUrX6vSDh2XqpFSLkRvZAR9fmyyCMveCsz4cxfN3Sz1V5ufPtrz0vbsIpulmR pVTasS4cJsd8aMHQoYx9y0tjCSZ6GrspD2RPJM0A211T6GEtwwiV0on8NLndHvcr qa+fYLUGCWNobqD3uzeauszW6onKHBALoTCANFRbEaaerONxxfkLGfMLAOoLgtTF sRRA24DeIa99NadKJ1O+ =6j/t -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
