Arrogant reply on forums
Guy with 63,000+ forum posts replies arrogantly over me asking for actual deletion to be implemented. Brings up multiple tragedies. This upsets me because I once donated $20 to the Software in the Public Interest and wish for positivity and inclusion. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=305290
IMHO, while not on the best tone, you where given good reasons as why you can't delete repo/packages. Stuffing your post with human rights wasn't the best "tone" either On Thu, May 1, 2025, 13:42 Qtra Gabriex <qtra@gabriex.xyz> wrote:

Really? I dint think the kind of behavior in the reply is acceptable. We're often called out for creating toxic environments when people ask for help and this is the exact same thing again. Sometimes no reply is better than a reply like that. Especially with really inflatable references and condescending dripping of off every word. We can do better. We must do better! Thank you
I think his replay was very informative and, also, delightful. Why do you even feel insulted or something? -- Best Regards, Abraham Sent with Tutanota; https://tuta.com May 1, 2025, 18:32 by arch-general@andypieters.me.uk:

Hello, I didn't want to participate in this discussion in the first place, but given the last few emails I've been receiving, I thought I should say something. I think that the direct reference and comparison to hitler and nazism (in the reply) was completely inappropriate andquite frankly unacceptable, because it is antisemitic, and it makes it look like those things weren't extremely serious. I think that this is exactly why there is a Code of Conduct for the forum in the first place. The good news is that it seems to me that the post in question was removed ? --- Best regards, Camelia (she/they) On 5/2/25 12:27 AM, Abraham S.A.H. wrote:

I can only see that more and more reasonable people are exiled and restricted from their obvious human rights. With this level of extremism, soon most people can't express their thoughts and opinions unless it's filtered and empty from anything which would make it theirs. As the only creature (human) with the power of expressing thoughts with words, it's only sad that we can only say what is approved by others just like a parrot. -- Best Regards, Abraham Sent with Tutanota; https://tuta.com 2 May 2025, 02:22 by cam@camelia.dev:

The accusation of anti-Semitism does not make sense. A comparison with Hitler and the NAZIS is inappropriate in most cases, but not automatically anti-Semitic. There is currently a world situation in which diplomacy should be practiced and insinuations of anti-Semitism should be treated with great caution. Labeling unpopular worldviews and questionable opinions as anti-Semitic per se does not help in any way. You don't necessarily have to go one better. Please stop!
Please stop spamming our emails, this is for technical stuff. You can freely discuss about human rights and whatever you want somewhere else. ==== Martin Zecher El jue, 1 may 2025, 22:55, Ralf Mardorf <ralf-mardorf@riseup.net> escribió:

Out of curiosity: Is it? I couldn't find a source, where the purpose of arch-general is defined, but I thought it is for "general Arch Linux stuff", which includes community topics for me. lukaro On 5/2/25 6:00 AM, Martin Zecher wrote:

Honestly, I see you all a bit exalted. The original post talking about human rights and how they were being “trampled” because you simply cannot delete a package you have uploaded to the AUR without the help of a maintainer is quite ridiculous. Especially on the basis that “that's how AUR works and that's how it's stated in the rules[1]” so if you don't like it just don't contribute. From that point on, such a ridiculous request deserved only a humorous response. seth, the person who wrote the answer, is simply a wonderful person who is always willing to help (he has helped me personally on more than one occasion) and, pardon the expression, it is completely normal to get your balls swollen when you see that kind of nonsense. He has been quite restrained in his response. In short, as we say in Spain: Palabras necias, oidos sordos. (Foolish words, deaf ears. Perhaps translated it does not have the same strength) Greetings. I think we're all a bit shouting in the void here at cross purposes A request for information, no matter that it was awkwardly put, should it be replied with in a toxic manner? I would argue that it shouldn't. And people moaning about their freedom of expression being trampled, seriously? You can be creative in your replies but there's no room for being toxic. As I said before, my opinion is that sometimes it's better to not reply (silence is golden after all.
