[arch-general] Automount
New install using the latest USB install image. I am having trouble with automounting in KDE both usb and dvd/cd roms This is the error from an error dialog box Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.9" (uid=1000 pid=4563 comm="kded [kdeinit] --new-startup) interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member="Mount" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.Hal" (uid=0 pid=4323 comm="/usr/sbin/hald)) I have looked at the wiki Hal and haven't figured this out, I am of the option that this is related to consolekit, Is there a wiki entry for consolekit ? I havn't found one. Also the newer version of cups doesn't allow me to setup the duplexer on my HP LaserJet 2300d, the older one always worked. Thanks for your help

Added exec ck-launch-session startkde to .xinitrc and now I have automounting, but it will not automount when I start kde using kdm. Thanks
I did this to solve my mount permission problem caused by hal. Solution was to add “session optional pam_ck_connector.so” to “/etc/pam.d/login”. That was the tip found on this thread<http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=84635&p=3>. But I don't use kde & kdm though. Using xfce. No login manager.
Make sure that the permissions are set correctly for console kit via the KDE system settings applet. This was my problem with automount awhile back. I don't understand what your saying. I looked at the KDE systems app and I don't see anything where I would change or set perms

The path to the PolicyKit settings on my machine are: System Settings -> Advanced Tab -> PolicyKit Authorization. On Sat, Dec 19, 2009 at 6:31 PM, Baho Utot <baho-utot@columbus.rr.com>wrote:

Ok I found that and I have two entries one for k3b and one for org.freedesktop What do I put there ? And What am I looking at? [putolin]
Huh. I must have done this with a previous version of KDE or PolicyKit. Now, I don't have the same number of entries in that dialog and all of the ones that I remember setting are missing now. On Sun, Dec 20, 2009 at 6:20 AM, Baho Utot <baho-utot@columbus.rr.com>wrote:
