[arch-mirrors] Best practices setting up a new mirror

Hi everyone, First of all thank you for hosting Arch mirrors. I'm planning to contribute by hosting one as well. Any best practices regarding software (web server, rsync) or configuration? Hardware specs? I will follow-up on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:NewMirrors and probably make use of the rsync script (https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/infrastructure/-/blob/master/roles/s…) Cheers!

[arch-mirrors] VM images now available on the tier0 mirror

Hi All, Arch Linux has started building VM images [1] which will be made available on the `images` directory next to the `iso` directory on our tier0 mirror. The `images` directory will keep 3 months of VM images which should be around ~ 5 GB in size. [1] https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/arch-boxes Greetings, Arch DevOps Team

[arch-mirrors] URL for archmirror.it is changing

Hi, As of now the new URL to access the mirror will be: https://archmirror.it/repos/ The old URL (https://archmirror.it/) will remain active for at least a month to try to reduce problems for users. All other information remaining unchanged. Thanks

Due to problems with the original ISP (register.it), the server has been moved to a different provider (HOSTSlim B.V. in the Netherlands), with IP 103.219.154.222. The service (https + rsync) is now again fully operational, again with 1Gb/s bandwidth. Cheers, JJ
