Decomissioning the repo.hyron.dev package mirror
by Ilya Zlobintsev 10 Oct '26

10 Oct '26

Hi, I'm the owner of the repo.hyron.dev mirror in Ukraine. Unfortunately, due to continuous attacks on energy and networking infrastructure, I'm no longer able to maintain stable operation of the mirror. As such, I'm requesting it to be removed from the mirrorlist.

Mirrors reporting incorrect "Last-Modified" time
by technobirb 07 Oct '26

Ello, I was told to email here about this issue: Half of the Arch mirrors are not returning the original modification time of the files as seen on geo.mirror.pkgbuild.com in the HTTP "Last-Modified" header. This causes the user to be unable to upgrade DB (with a server without this bug) due to server HTTP 304, even if there is a newer copy of the file available. Forum discussion (See #11 for how this bug works): https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=314636 Test script: https://gist.github.com/technobirb/f1e229cd27d2cc7380556841dd63e4b6 Test script output: https://privatebin.net/?1ebe8ea20c10304e#CjZu2RcFUgrLczLeTLyz2Xxo3BAETBbWY6… (See a list of buggy servers at the end. Some of them might be just outdated. The output expires in 3 days.) A browser F12 screenshot of one of the affected servers is attached. At the moment the latest modification time of core.db is "Sun, 04 Oct 2026 15:25:18 GMT" but the server returns "Mon, 05 Oct 2026 02:57:27 GMT" which was close to when the screenshot was taken (but not exactly...).

Mirror Urbanwave Notice
by Hein Swanepoel 07 Oct '26

07 Oct '26

Hello Arch Linux Mirror Staff, I am the owner and maintainer of the Arch Linux mirror in South Africa: https://mirrors.urbanwave.co.za/archlinux/ Please accept this as formal notice that mirrors.urbanwave.co.za will be decommissioned on 24 December 2026 (three months from today). I request that mirrors.urbanwave.co.za be removed from the official Arch Linux mirror list on or before that date. The mirror will remain available and in sync until the decommission date so that users and packagers have time to switch. After 24 December 2026 the service will be taken offline. Thank you for maintaining the mirror infrastructure, and thank you to everyone who has used this mirror. Best regards, Hein Owner / maintainer mirrors.urbanwave.co.za
