Arch Linux managed mirrors updated with encrypted rsync over TLS support

Hi all, Since October [1], Arch Linux offers TLS encrypted rsync endpoint for all T1 mirrors that sync directly from T0. The original rsync endpoint remain unchanged. It is recommended for all T1 mirrors to switch over to syncing via rsync over TLS. rsync over TLS is enabled on all Arch Linux managed Geomirrors [3]. Mirrors themselves can also start supporting rsync endpoints over TLS [2] if they wish to do so for other downstream T2 mirrors . Mirrors supporting rsync over TLS can be listed on the wiki [4], as archweb does not support listing them yet. New CDN based mirror now available: fastly.mirror.pkgbuild.com

Hello everyone, we [have now setup][0][1] an additional option for a worldwide mirror: https://fastly.mirror.pkgbuild.com With the caching done by the Fastly CDN, the bandwidth speeds and time to first byte should be quite good all around the globe, especially as more and more people start using the service. Thanks a lot to Fastly for sponsoring us with free access to their services! This new mirror can be seen as an orthogonal approach to the already existing, also DevOps administered geomirrors, which will not be replaced by the CDN based mirror. Temporary maintenance of repo.jing.rocks (2025-08-13~)

Hello all, The software mirror site repo.jing.rocks (established in 2023) will have a temporary maintenance starting from 2025-08-13. The end date is unknown; it could last for months. The servers will be relocated. They are hosted at my home, so they come with me when I move, and moving is just a part of life. That's why the downtime is so long: the internet line is not yet set up at the new home and no one really knows how long it will take (maybe NTT east Japan knows?), or the worst case scenario, if the fiber line will be set up at all, because one ISP may refuse due to that the building is too old. Please use another upstream for now if you have been using repo.jing.rocks as your upstream. Once the dust settles, the IP addresses will change and I will notify (upstream push mirrors, etc.) as needed. For most projects/distros there is no need to take repo.jing.rocks down from the mirror list. Sorry for the inconvenience. Oh btw: as some of you know and can tell from my gpg keys, my legal name has been changed from "Jing Luo" (birth name) to "Lucas Yasuda" (preferred name) following my naturalization to become a Japanese citizen.
