Hi, I run ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de which has 20 GBit/sec at its disposal. Even though that's clearly not a home server, I hope our data can help: https://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/~cotto/loganalyzer/archlinux_month.png As you can see, for archlinux alone, we regularly send out 150-200 MBit/sec to users with peaks higher than that. On average, we send out around 75 MBit/sec. If you're in a remote area where 20 MBit/sec can make a difference, I'd say your server (if well-maintained, reliable, ...) can help.
