[arch-mirrors] Shutdown of server mirror.armbrust.me and setting up a new mirror mirror.fi.armbrust.me
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Dear members, I am currently running the mirror mirror.armbrust.me located in France. Due to financial and organizational reasons, I will have to relocate the mirror server (and I will prepare for more mirrors in the yet far future). The server "mirror.armbrust.me" will change its location from France to Finland with the new domain "mirror.fi.armbrust.me". The old mirror should work until February 25, 2019. The new domain and location in Helsinki is already reachable (via http, https and rsync). The new repo links are: http://mirror.fi.armbrust.me/archlinux/ https://mirror.fi.armbrust.me/archlinux/ rsync://mirror.fi.armbrust.me/archlinux/ Due to financial reasons (space in the new location is much more expensive), the new mirror no longer has "other", "archive" and "sources", but it does mirror the "iso" folder (and of course everything mandatory). I am sorry for that. How to proceed further? Should I simply add a new feature request for the Finland mirror and you will remove the France mirror, or can you simply "rename" the mirror and change its location? Kind regards, Michael Armbruster -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: GPGTools - https://gpgtools.org iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEekTom1KKoduz/K8uHPpVbz7l/+cFAlxNnDsACgkQHPpVbz7l /+e0fg/+NgIH1+fJmzZr31DRoVP/v8DNK5651YHnsfKe0dGw92JtMheF0yzFp24o 0vrOMpiRp5CgaNuWA/CwKp/NuZ7qPz6zYEfY9YKQ25KYAa2kthiqoVWMBchfhAjT 323InptT/Mgu0SlfpyffHfoHpY6fj2tsk4v7gwkjKA2x72C9m/8XLdJk+bV8YLPh LIkzmkQcDfd1KSrCvWskX2cTBIIuwd/d/3laSjH3z3OacbeJ2bdCasliXqUDvT6i Yv58Dwf+9N9eNP3gJcyF9LxUjZCsrjoSZQDLko7fmuUm9EUcFsaxGnBHtIU1eOn+ eDYasxzHfEFnRXcQ2Kmuf0gZHiX051evq4PKrASGs7RbaMy+SxuO64YS5AKI9add e19x06Pfm3F2167oY5YhjMB9/bf8rGsOUbazjBI6W825ZjMNJWsinX5f4H2B3OmJ D7kMMOcUZDiUrHNJz2UE6R5EZo3xyJIqhq75IWNKxRF8ScdeRpwgp9UlzLFT1+fa qfb9IwaIHUdppjk+oWNFAZFv/NneBH/8PMmS/WbqjG0AF58zTK/nGXEntSGBpjeO bvCBoDbXJj4K3MagU8z5F6LYJ7UEXy6vbfbCd44kSqP7qeSz63/vIgjYkPJx5vUW rzULN1OS1X7eBqNmVRTTEEBzYiOUTfnlk5nsGgPYabCbMzMu9UY= =IMGy -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Dear members, I forgot an additional info.
Due to financial reasons (space in the new location is much more expensive), the new mirror no longer has "other", "archive" and "sources", but it does mirror the "iso" folder (and of course everything mandatory). I am sorry for that.
I should have mentioned, though, that the new server has a much higher bandwidth. The France mirror had 100 MBit/s, the new Finland server has 1 GBit/s. Kind regards, Michael Armbruster

The server "mirror.armbrust.me" will change its location from France to Finland with the new domain "mirror.fi.armbrust.me".
We list all URLs of mirrors operated by the same organization under one name. It does not matter if the URLs use different subdomains or if they are in different countries. In your case I've removed the old URLs and added the new ones, but the listing is still under the name "armbrust.me"[1]. If you have more URLs in the future, we will add them there. If you want to see what that will look like, you can check out the leaseweb mirror[2]. [1] https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/armbrust.me/ [2] https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/leaseweb.net/ That said, it looks like there is an issue with the HTTP URL[3]. When I use `curl http://mirror.fi.armbrust.me/archlinux/lastsync` I get some weird binary data. Can you look into that? Unless it's something interesting that you want to share with whoever reads this list, feel free to send me a private mail (or none at all) if you fixed it. That's perfectly fine. We currently do not keep a record of which mirrors have other/archive/sources. We do keep a record of which ones have the ISOs since the website redirects ISO downloads based on that information.
How to proceed further? Should I simply add a new feature request for the Finland mirror and you will remove the France mirror, or can you simply "rename" the mirror and change its location?
As explained above, it's a simple matter of adding and removing some URLs. Also, you don't have to worry about how we store and maintain mirror info, but thanks for thinking about us this much ;) Florian
