[arch-multilib] Permission to move package into multilib

Hi guys, I have a package (bin32-chuck) that needs to me moved to multilib, as the developer currently has no native source for x86_64. I hope this is the correct place to ask, but could I have "permission" (for my user) to submit that package to multilib? Thanks, Brad

[arch-multilib] compiling problems with lib32-qtcurve-gtk2

Hi all, I'm working on a PKGBUILD for lib32-qtcurve. It is compiling, I can install and it seems to work. But... It is crashing on some functions where the real 32 Bit build is not. Error message is: Memory Access Error (German: Speicherzugriffsfehler - sorry if translated uncorrectly) Background: I'm in the process of getting the german tax and accounting software LinHa-Bu (http://mcrichter.macbay.de/Seiten/Deutsch/Linux/Lin-HaBu/LinHaBu.htm) to work with multilib. It is compiled with REAL Studio, an integrated RAD-IDE based on GTK which is only available in 32Bit (http://www.realsoftware.com/realstudio/). But this is another story... For a better 'look and feel' I tried to compile lib32-qtcurve-gtk2. My PKGBUILD is posted here: http://aur.pastebin.com/beYWBEuW (BTW, should I post it here or is pastebin the right way?) A native x86_64 flashplugin preview has been release in Adobe Labs codenamed "Square" - version 10.2.161.22 . See http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/ . Related AUR package flashplugin-prerelease http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=32072 . What will be the status of lib32 flashplugin in multilib repo? Regards. Keshav

[arch-multilib] common variables in PKGBUILD

Hi all, Some time ago I asked for your comments on my PKGBUILD for lib32-libgtkhtml. After some corrections I uploaded it to the AUR (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=40554). Some additional comments came in then and now I'm kinda stuck. You guys use common variables like _pkgbasename in your PKGBUILDs for the multilib repository. This seems to be against the AUR Packaging Standards (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Packaging_Standards) Quote: "Do not introduce new variables into your PKGBUILD build scripts, unless the package cannot be built without doing so, as these could possibly conflict with variables used in makepkg itself. If a new variable is absolutely required, prefix the variable name with an underscore" But... Using these common variables is a lot easier (and more elegant) especially if it comes to maintaining a PKGBUILD over the time. I'd vote for changing the wiki to a less harsh standard by allowing _any_ variable prefixed with an underscore. Sadly not even the AUR webinterface pays attention to variables right now. By using a source like _majorver=(`echo $pkgver | egrep -o '[0-9]+\.[0-9]*+'`) source=(http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/$_pkgbasename/$_majorver/$_p… the source link on the AUR page of the Pakage breaks... [arch-multilib] New repositories (community-staging, multilib-testing)

The TU server now has a staging repository, this has been requested due to the big python rebuild. All rebuilds that are made for the staging repository should be put into community-staging now. multilib now has a testing repository, in case we need it (especially useful when testing has a new toolchain). Last but not least, the adjust-permissions cronjob has been disabled on both servers - should you mess with the db file directly (which you really shouldn't), never forget to restore the right permissions.

I lost all the data on my laptop to an unclean shutdown yesterday. I'm afraid I can't maintain my packages until I've completed recovering what I can (if anything) and I'm done setting up a new system.

Commenting out everything between an "if [[ $CARCH" seems to be to much because then it doesn't use the right library path and there are some other "patches" for other problems when compiling Wine on 64 bit. When using the attached PKGBUILD it at least starts compiling (didn't wait for the full compilation to complete). If the application runs using this PKGBUILD, you can also try packaging again without the modified CFLAGS, it could also be a problem between the "linking" of Wine64 and Wine.

Hi Folks, i have a weird problem with wine-multilib: I have wine crashes with certain applications, other applications work. Nothing unusual, I know. But: in a pure 32-bit arch installed in a separate partition on the same machine the same applications is working. Both have wine 1.3.1 and I started with a clean ~/.wine directory.
