GHC built just fine for me. I bootstrapped with GHC 6.4 generic ppc and then rebuilt the 6.6.1 package with the bootstrapped compiled version. Tested it out and it should be fine. :)

Sorry, screwed up a version in my prior posting. I meant GHC 4.2. Apparently the bug has to do with how 4.2 emits assembly that is inserted by GHC's C code gen. Relevent bug: http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/1427 Cheers, and thanks for working on ArchPPC Matt

I'm currently working on building some devel packages (ghc-6.6.1, erlang, and others) since I've noticed we're lacking there though other places as well. Hope to meet you all at one time or another.
GHC is currently broken with GCC 4.1. I tried building it with GCC-3.3 and a ghc binary from the gentoo-ppc team. I got it to build that way a coupla months ago, but then stupidly reformatted my HD without backing it up (I forgot a lot of stuff.) SInce then, I haven't been able to get it to build.
I'm waiting for GHC 6.8 which should be out this fall, and promises to fix some issues that make it a bitch to build. Good luck in the mean time ;)
