[arch-ports] [PPC] New ISO available for testing
Hi all, there's a new ftp-install ISO available for testing, get it from ftp://ftp.archlinuxppc.org/iso/snapshots/2007-06-23_archppc-ftp.iso.bz2 The menu-driven installer should work now, except for Auto-Prepare. Please test and report bugs! As a reminder, we now have a bugtracker: http://bugs.archlinuxppc.org/ greetings, - Armin
heya, another iso hits the server: ftp://ftp.archlinuxppc.org/iso/snapshots/2007-06-23-v2_archppc-ftp.iso.bz2 I added usbinput to the default hooks-array in mkinitcpio.conf. This should avoid panics during init on certain types of machines (e.g. iBook G4) Keep testing! :) - Armin Am Samstag, den 23.06.2007, 12:53 +0200 schrieb Armin Luntzer:

Tried an install on my Powerbook G4 (PowerBook5,4). The setup script worked right up until it was time to start the bootloader. The script choked on the attempt to install the bootloader. Judging by the VC5 output, the problem was that mkofboot was asking for y/N confirmation on formatting the bootstrap partition, and the script wasn't delivering. Quickinst worked like a charm, as always. Summary: Setup FTP... failed on installing bootloader (mkofboot/yaboot.) QuickInst FTP... worked for me. Matt
Thanks, I'll be looking into this issue - Armin Am Sonntag, den 24.06.2007, 06:46 -0400 schrieb Matthew William Cox:

I've just uploaded an updated iso: ftp://ftp.archlinuxppc.org/iso/snapshots/2007-06-24-v2_archppc-ftp.iso.bz2 I installed without problems and the system booted, so I guess the bootloader-install procedure is fine by now. greetings, - Armin Am Sonntag, den 24.06.2007, 14:25 +0200 schrieb Armin Luntzer:
