44.1 kHz was a compromise engineered to provide 70 minutes of playing time on a CD. And that's the only reason why it exists. The rest of the world uses 48 or 96 kHz. Re. sample libraries: these will in many cases be resampled anyway. And it's a lot easier to do this right when starting from 48 kHz. Ciao, -- FA
