Detect -v as a parameter to status and avoid dumping everything to /dev/null. Use this to restore error output to modprobe on loading user-specified modules. This fixes a problem where rsync won't work if the pkgver contains a colon (epoch). In this case rsync assumes that the colon is a remote:path separator and having src and dest both being remote arguments is not supported. Hello, Tom Gundersen: "If you want to have a temporary workaround I guess it would be possible to blacklist your wireless module in /etc/modprobe.d and add it to MODULES in rc.conf." [#1]. But in functions::udev_modprobe() there is a modprobe -ab, and -b implies does not load a blacklisted module. Since MODULES() is supposed (at least for me) to be "always load all listed modules", should be -b removed from modprobe line? Good Luck! [#1] https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/27938#comment88136

set_timezone function currently respect user choice of symlink to timezone file or copy it. man page doesn't explain this subtlety which let think that TIMEZONE parameter in rc.conf doesn't ensure anything. This caused problems when udev-177-3 introduced a 30 second timeout for broken kernel drivers. We don't want to do this kind of fiddling in initscripts, if there is a need for overriding the timeout this should be added upstream to udev.conf. My feeling is that this is a bad idea, as there are now at least three different kinds of timeouts at play in udev, and if they are set to something incompatible it will cause unneccesary problems.
