[arch-projects] New list: arch-projects
A new list has been created: arch-projects. This list is for development discussion, patches and pull requests for initscripts, netcfg, dbscripts, devtools (and maybe other projects, those are the ones I could think of). Anyone is free to subscribe, but please, no user discussions (keep those to the forums or arch-general). Fun fact: There was a mailing list called arch-projects once, and it has been deleted, but the old archives are still there.

It would be nice if people would prefix the mails with the prject's name e.g. ([netcfg] or [devtools]). Otherwiese there is quite a chance that mails will get lost; especially if the traffic on that list increases. Greetings, Pierre -- Pierre Schmitz, https://users.archlinux.de/~pierre

Agreed. You can also tell git send-email to prefix your patches I think. We should investigate this.

Is it possible to generate those tags from address extensions? Would be nice if you could use addresses like "arch-projects+initscripts@archlinux.org" and mailman generates "[arch-projects] [initscripts] <normal subject>" -- Florian Pritz -- {flo,bluewind}@server-speed.net

We could do some postfix filtering magic to do this. I don't think mailman can do it.

If we do that in postfix we have to ensure it only adds the tag once.
Also could you get rid of that footer? It's pretty useless imho and we don't have it on the other lists. -- Florian Pritz -- {flo,bluewind}@server-speed.net

Test.

This sounds like a good idea, I'll try to remember doing this.
That would be great. I have asked several contributers to post patches to the list, I guess it will be rather unlikely that all the one-time contributors will know to add this prefix. It would be much easier if I can ask people to post patches to <arch-projects+initscripts@archlinux.org>. I don't know if it is possible though :-) Cheers, Tom
