[arch-projects] new WMII snapshot
This is mostly for phrakture, the window manager developer and WMII packager. Just a note to say wmii has released a new snapshot. I don't see they've updated the docs or anything, so this may be an insignificant release... or maybe they just haven't gotten around to updating the docs yet. I'm getting a little tired of wmi... so I may be switching soon. I like that wmii has better support for floating windows. When a dialog box appears full screen in wmi, I don't like it much. Even if I toggle the mode, it often doesn't show up right, especially with Java apps. Dusty
New snapshot is in my repo.... I've been getting a bit tired of wmii... wmi is still fine by me... I'm not sure... I did find out recently that alt+f will switch from transients to fullscreened apps... that was missing for a while 8) On Apr 9, 2005 2:09 PM, Dusty Phillips <buchuki@gmail.com> wrote:

Serious? I'm just trying to figure out the new multimodal keybindings... they're awesome. I'm still having some trouble with resizing frames, but I think that will come with time. Overall, I'm becoming quite impressed. I'm going to have to hack ALL the keybindings to get what I want, but I can see wmii is capable of what I want. They just have sucky defaults. :-D mod4+w enters wmii mode r enters resize mode hjkl to make the window bigger (shift to smaller) esc esc to return to default mode Kinda neat. Only there seems to be a problem splitting windows sometimes... maybe they only split when the frame is unlocked or something. I'm gonna keep experimenting, but seriously, I'm finally getting past "interested" and sneaking up on "impressed". Dusty
