just thinking out loud: how about we include, in the archiso configs dir, a config for an image which is basically like our regular image, but has makepkg, vim and git preinstalled, and a git clone of the aif repository. i figured everytime i load an iso in a VM I install those things manually anyway, I could streamline my dev workflow a bit. And it makes it easier for other people who want to contribute. OTOH maybe this would be just a config that belongs on my hard disk, not in the archiso repo. Dieter

I was wondering when there would be a new install iso and if there is anything I can help out with to get it out the door. I used Qemu to test it. The boot process hangs at 'Waiting 30 seconds for device /dev/disk/by-name/' Thats it. Which device should poll the archiso_mount_handler function? Is it USB media, or ISO image? Normal boot process as 'qemu -cdrom arch.iso' works fine.

Hi folks. Keep up the great work with ArchIso, and aif. Aif personally is accessible with Speakup. As for newer installers they would need to be tested by blind users specifically, unless someone sighted wished to make there system speak and actually use a speaking CD or something to test it with. Curious what kinds of changes you folks are doing in Archiso lately? I'm currently working on a remastered version of Chris's TalkingArch CD for my own spessifications, using Archiso-git and talkingarch-git. Both are found in the AUR. Talkingarch-git was just updated today to match what's happening with archiso after I let Chris know that things were not building previously. Keep up the great work building Arch. I find Arch to be pretty nice-especially the roling-release functionality. [arch-releng] [PATCH] Remove joe editor from package list

joe was added in 5980b62d4b2017181d19db02734286becd2937cb, mainly because I liked it. Since then, I have matured and started using vim. Thomas still uses it, but he's always been special. Joe has recently been moved to the AUR. And when devs make such decisions it's usually deserved. Furthermore, promoting joe through the install cd was never a great choice anyway, it's not a big improvement over nano anyway and I wouldn't want to make people waste time with it they could otherwise invest in vim.
