[arch-releng] worker_mkinitcpio missing?

It looks like in the latest aif the worker_mkinitcpio function is missing. I am using this function in Varch to prepare the initcpio for certain virtualized hardware, so I am just asking, what function should I overwrite in the aif config file instead to ensure that the mkinitcpio.conf is overwritten before the initcpio is generated? Hi, I see there are two directories with packages: /repo/any -> contains packages for "any" architecture /repo/pkg -> contains arch specific packages (i.e. i686 on an i686 live cd) plus symlinks to all files in /repo/any my questions: why do you name the directory /repo/pkg and not something like /repo/i686 ? specifying the architecture seems more sensible and consistent to me. Also, since these images are the copies of what's in core, why not use the name "core" in there somewhere? like /repo/core-any and /repo/core-i686 or even better.. why not follow the same convention as used on our mirrors? that seems like the cleanest. then it would be /repo/core/os/any and /repo/core/os/i686 (not sure why the 'os' subdir is needed though) Dieter

[arch-releng] updates to releng scripts for new dm_snapshot archiso

Hi, I've been updating the releng scripts for the new archiso (all my changes are in this commit: http://pastie.org/2318603) It seems to build the i686 iso's succesfully, but fails for x86_64 and I have no idea why. I only know `./build.sh all_iso_single` failed (exited >0) in the x86_64 chroot, but it doesn't give me any errors. Could it be because I do a `./build.sh clean_single` and `./build.sh clean_dual` first? (before doing x86_64, after i686). I know you gave instructions at http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-releng/2011-June/001835.html, but they don't mention when exactly i should do which clean commands. [arch-releng] giving archiso block devices more clear names

Hi, to solve https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/25425 in a robust and clear way, I suggest to - in archiso - prefix all blockdevice filenames with "archiso_". (also, I'm more a fan of underscores then hyphens, in this case it might not matter, but they are usually a bit more robust (like LVM filenames and for variables in bash) so I stick to them for consistency) I.e. /dev/mapper/archiso_lib_modules /dev/mapper/archiso_root_image /dev/mapper/archiso_usr_share Dieter
