Although this is going off-topic: This is true for at least the CPUs found in netbooks. The versions dedicated for small desktop devices (dual core atom etc.) support x86_64. The new Atom N450 which can be found in e.g. eeePC 1005PE is a x86_64 cpu though. -- Pierre Schmitz, https://users.archlinux.de/~pierre
