[aur-dev] [RFC v2] Draft of the AUR 4.0.0 migration notification
The original thread is too cluttered already so I decided to submit the second version in a separate thread. The only real change is that we decided to not make aur.archlinux.org a read-only archive such that users still get updates during the transition period (if AUR package maintainers decide to update both aur.archlinux.org and aur4.archlinux.org). Hello, This is an automated email to all AUR package maintainers. Starting from June 8th, 2015, the Arch User Repository is being migrated to a Git-based platform. If you want to continue maintaining your AUR packages, please submit them to aur4.archlinux.org before July 8th, 2015. We reserved all packages you are currently maintaining on aur.archlinux.org, such that nobody else can overwrite them. However, if you choose not to resubmit your package, we will cancel that reservation on July 8th. As of July 8th, you can submit packages that were not taken care of by their maintainers. On August 8th, the archive at aur.archlinux.org will be replaced by aur4.archlinux.org and the former aur.archlinux.org source tarballs will be made available for reference. Keep in mind to submit any package updates made between June 8th and August 8th to aur4.archlinux.org. Anything submitted to aur.archlinux.org during that period of time will be lost. For instructions on the new package submission process, please consult the Arch wiki [1]. If you encounter any bugs, please report them to the aurweb bug tracker [2]. Happy packaging! [1] https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#AUR_4 [2] https://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?project=2 We are going to notify all AUR package maintainers tomorrow. If you have concerns, please raise them now. Regards, Lukas
