Hey all...just wanted to let you know that I'll be out of town for the next week and a half (I'm getting married!) and won't be touching any Arch-related stuff. I do know that I've got a pending bug report to fix my vim plugin packages, moving them to the new proper location considering the new vim package's structure, so if anyone wants to tackle that, feel free...if not, I'll update them when I get back. can i do install -dm755 $srcdir/fsprc "$pkgdir"$HOME/.fsprc i tried install -dm755 $srcdir/fsprc "$pkgdir"~/.fsprc but it wouldn't install it to the $HOME dir

Seeing that nobody has stepped up to offer and maintain this cute little thing, I have taken the initiative to start an effort. It's probably due to a lack of interest/need that none of the related packages are in [unsupported] in the first place, but even then I'd like to believe that some of you might be keen on contributing. And so I've put up some fundamentals: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sugar And if you're still staring at this with a question mark while refusing to go to the above wiki page: http://www.sugarlabs.org/ Oh yes I'm spinning this into an Arch "playbox" for my little siblings, particularly the youngest one who's 5 or something. Sure, I could just install the Fedora-based image and let 'er rip, but I wouldn't feel as comfortable =p

I agree that comments are not terribly useful on community packages, but I think they're important for [unsupported]. Maybe for community packages, only allow comments from the *maintainer* (or TU). My preference is to leave it as is. Granted, sometimes people report issues for community packages on the comment page, but that's no worse than people emailing the maintainer directly (since that's still not on the bug tracker), and is better because it's more visible.

Hello, I've just found out that the package bf-blender [1] is exact copy of my package blender-svn [2]. It's maintainer even doesn't bother to mention me in the PKGBUILD although it's clearly visible that only change made to it is adding blender-svn to conflicts and changing description. Hi, I'm currently the maintainer of most of the qutim's PKGBUILDs. Recently, some people requested the plugins which add support for different protocols to Qutim, to be named qutim-protocol-*-svn. Some request that the language support should be named l10n, I agreed with that too.
