Currently extra/scons-1.3.0-1 is marked out-of-date, which is probably due to the fact that since last month, version 2 has become the stable branch upstream. From http://www.scons.org: "14 June 2010 SCons production release 2.0.0.final.0 is now available from the download page at SourceForge. This is the production release for the 2.0 series. The 2.0 series drops support for all pre-2.4 versions of Python. See the ChangeLog for a complete list of changes in the release." Version 1 is still supported, as evidenced by the development branch updates: "26 June 2010 SCons release 1.3.0.d20100626 is now available from the download page at SourceForge. Fix the ability to append to default $*FLAGS values (which are implemented as CLVar instances) in a copied construction environment without affecting the original construction environment's value. See the ChangeLog for a complete list of changes in the release." The following are the packages that makedepend on scons: == extra == hydrogen ardour linuxdcpp == community == ffmpeg2theora oregano btanks kleansweep pingus dangerdeep fceux mypaint glob2 We can either update it to version 2 or move version 1 to a scons1 package. [aur-general] Notify on package disown?

Hi is there any way to be notified when an AUR package is disowned? I'm trying to take a more active role in the community so I'm trying to adopt some packages. I've already gone through pretty much all the orphaned packages now and adopted the ones that I thought I could maintain well. Hi, I'm maintaining both udunits and udunits2 right now. udunits2 apparently contains a compatibility library for udunits and therefore I have merged the two packages together. I believe udunits2 should be removed now. Just wondering if it would be meaningful to put 'replaces' or 'provides' in the new PKGBUILD since no packages in the AUR depend on udunits2. [aur-general] TU Bylaws amendment proposal

Hi, Given the recent wave of TU applications, I think it might be a good idea to amend the TU Bylaws regarding quorum for addition of a TU. The section currently contains the following specification: > Following the announcement, standard voting procedure commences with a > discussion period of 5 days, a quorum of 66%, and a voting period of 7 days. This would prevent ambiguity and possible arguments regarding the establishment of quorum. Considering how lax we seem to be when it comes to the bylaws, I doubt it would ever really be an issue, but an extra line to clarify wouldn't hurt either, plus it would provide clear logic if we ever encode the members list and tie it to the voting interface (you know, when we're all downloading the signed Duke Nukem Forever package via pacman on Hurd). What should I do about software that won't work, not due to the fact about how it is packaged, but badly coded? I am finding some packages of mine that won't compile or run and the author(programmer) doesn't seem to be active anymore

[aur-general] Help with a perl package needed

Hi, I just remembered that I wrote a PKGBUILD for a perl program a while ago but never made it available to others. I know nothing about perl, so I'm looking for advice. It did build, install and apparently work, but spits a whole lot of errors now. I don't have the slightest idea how to figure out what's wrong now. I had to write PKGBUILDs for a bunch of the dependencies as well, and used CPANPLUS to do that. Thanks to a hint from a fellow archer I noticed that a bunch of those are already provided by the perl package itself.
