The packages lib32-libsexy [1] and lib32-libsexymm [2] have PKGBUILD set to build from binary and install libs in the invalid directory '/opt/lib32/usr/lib'. I asked the maintainer to fix it more than 2 weeks ago and got no reply. When I sent an email to the address informed in AUR (tried also ".org", got "no such user"), but it doesn't exist, as you can see below. Please disown this package, so I can fix them. [aur-general] Package merge request: kernel26/linux-ice and kernel26/linux-rt-ice

Hi, please remove kernel26-ice [1] and merge comments/votes with linux-ice [2]. Also, I would prefer that kernel26-rt-ice [3] be removed and comments/votes merged with linux-rt-ice [4]. The slight problem with that is that nvidia proprietary driver users will not be able to use linux-rt-ice, since the latest editions of the -rt patchset export several symbols as GPL which disallow compilation of the nvidia driver. Re-exporting (or modifying the nvidia license) with a patch is simple but not permitted under the terms of the GPL (as I understand it). In any case, this will not be resolved by the passage of time, so users will just have to use nouveau or patch themselves. [aur-general] OK! changing a PKG's name and retaining votes/comments

I started a thread with same subject less the "OK! " back in May and am glad to see people saw some value in it to the point of modifying the AUR! Since the next version of the linux kernel is now released and likely soon to enter [testing] under a new name, I need to use this new feature to change the name of "kernel26-ck" in the AUR to "whatever-tpowa-uses-ck" -- at the risk of exposing my naiveté on the subject, I'll ask: 1) What is the SOP for people to request a namechange? 2) What is critically important to include the PKGBUILD? My best-guess answers: 1) Upload the new PKGNAME as a new package and email a TU with the old/new name or post to this mailing list. 2) Include a replaces statement in the PKGBUILD. E.g. replaces=('old_PKG_name'). Thanks for the thoughts!

I just upgraded the official Arch Linux AUR setup to 1.9.0. For a short list of changes, read [1]. All AUR helper developers are encouraged to check for the latest RPC interface changes and the new package locations (we use segmented upload directories now). We also recommend to use the "URLPath" field from the RPC response instead of hardcoding the path to the PKGBUILD and tarball. For now, there's a rewrite rule to avoid unnecessary breakage of AUR helpers and legacy links. Please report any issues on the AUR bug tracker [2].
