The next important lines are 118-146 which state the actual comment data. An example of it is: INSERT INTO `PackageComments` VALUES (17,46,68,'ruby bindings for fastcgi',1113164127,68),(28,69,65,'A countdown timer applet for the GNOME panel.',1113178883,0); Except that line there is 161 characters and contains two comments (one comment deleted by its poster about Ruby and one non-deleted comment about GNOME). The line in the real file is a million characters and contains ~20k comments. And there are 28 such lines. Reading this would be like reading War And Peace 10 times but it would teach you a lot about the history of the AUR.

Hi, Some of you may be interested in the new "aurtomatic" script included in python3-aur [1]. You can use it to do the following from the command line: * comment * vote * unvote * notify * unnotify * flag * unflag The functionality is in the AUR.Aurploader module. There is support there for other interactions if anyone wants to add them before I get around to it. @TUs I expect to eventually get around to adding support for TU actions (internal votes, changing account fields, etc.) It's far down on my todo list but feel free to express interest if you want to bump it up (or submit code). [aur-general] Easy way to find out package dependencies

Hello, is there an easy way to find out, which package dependencies a package has? Say, i want to write the PKGBUILD for a package, and the compilation on my system (.7configure/cmake and make) does work without problems. Then I don't get a message about missing libraries. So, it's easy to compile the stuff, but needs some effort to find out the dependencies. Possibly with ldd the linked stuff can be found out, but the library names not necessarily are the same as the names of the package that provide these libraries. So, it may need some effort to find out the packages. Is there an easy way to find out the package names? Maybe someone already has written a script that reverse-lookups the package names from ldd-output? Any ideas on that? Ciao, Oliver

[aur-general] Problem with package compilation

Hello! I have trouble with compiling package from aur [1]. Its compilation was not tested a long time. I was need to change dependency from qt to qt4 there and when I try to compile it - compilation fails. Error messages are there [2].
