Submitting packages to AUR

Hello, I have read both the submission guideline and also aur packages, but I am a little confused on how to actually create the repository. Does cloning a pkgbase (whatever name you want to call the package) automatically create the remote repository? What if you have got a local repository already (using git init) and want to push it to a AUR remote, but it does not yet exist? Thank you, Polarian
